Theater freezeProductions was founded in 2004 by Hanne Trap Friis, CEO and artistic director. Theater freezeProductions is an independent theater company that creates new stage art independently and through various collaborations and co-productions.

Since 2012, Theater freezeProductions has worked closely with Greenlandic writers, artists, actors, theaters, and producers. Together, creating contemporary and socially relevant productions rooted in and based on Greenlandic realities and stories.

Collaboration and co-productions are an integral part of freezeProductions artistic work. When working in Greenland, the theater is part of the Greenlandic theater scene and public discourse. Theater freezeProductions collaborates with theaters, independent producers, cultural centers, municipalities, ministries, and NGO organizations.

When the productions play in Denmark, they establish a Greenlandic contemporary narrative about Greenland, present a wide range of Greenlandic artists on the Danish stages, foster dialogue and debate, confront preconceived notions, and entertain.

The productions are developed around topics of historical or social relevance and interest. The theater is committed to developing new dramatic texts and exploring subjects of historical and social significance, including topics that have yet to find their place in public discourse.

Theatre freezeProductions creates performing arts with great relevance and a strong connection to lives that are lived or have been lived. Performing arts that touch, challenge, and spark reflection on the era we are part of.
